Groove Armada was absolutly brilliant, unfortunately a little short and missing a few key singers, it still was a blast to spend some 'quality' time with mates and friends. The rest of the weekend was spent lazing around with a smile on my face as we were out partying until 7am Saturday morning. Readying myself for K-day as he is flying in on Monday or Tuesday (think now it's Tuesday as I got an SMS from him, which I have work Christmas drinks with people... going to have to juggle).
I went for a walk on Tuesday as I received some bad news from a friend and just decided to get out of the office and go for a walk... I do enjoy just looking around London or anywhere you spend a majority of your time and find some things you didn't know existed. So I put my IPOD in my ears and switched it over to my collection of REM and went for a wander through Victoria Station, the prime-evil arch enemy of Waterloo Station (well not really). Victoria is beautifully old and decorated architechiture is very cool... so I'm standing amongst the A to Z crowd bustling around me for their lunch or their own timetable standing looking up... I think I got a few people to stop and also look up. Amazing how people do that.. so intrigued at what you are staring at and they are trying to figure it out, give up, shrug and walk away. For me it was just a white pigeon flying around the top with a bunch of other pigeons.
So the level of volume increased and the hum of traffic, footsteps and noise was out of the way and it felt like I was in a silent movie with a music backdrop or I was producing my own video clip for REM, but it was somewhat surreal. It's good to people watch and see what they do, how they walk, if they have forgotten to do something (fly, laces, buttons etc).
Been invited out to dinner with Scott (Erin/Bec's friend) and his friends - he tells me he is in need of some male friends as the women outnumber them for dinner... "How many" I say ... "Oh there is 30 people going to dinner and I think only 10 male." 3 to 1 ratio, then counting on possible male/female couples being there.. ratio increased.
Anyways I'll go back to lunch now and try and remember my pin number for my damn cashcard, wrap my secret santa present for Alex and hopefully book the car for Edinburgh.
"So Luke, how long you staying in England" ,says the random person who asks me this everytime I meet them...
"As long as it takes...." I answer.
